Chinatown Singapore

I first saw this painting on Clare’s social media and immediately loved it. I loved the vibrant shades of Red and all the bits and pieces characteristic of Singapore’s Chinatown, including the famous dragon dance, which Clare so skillfully blended together.

Chinatown is one of the most vibrant neighbourhoods to visit in the Little Red Dot, a riot of colour is everywhere, from the buildings to the cakes, trinkets and beautiful lanterns on sale in the shops and night markets.

This print will certainly attract attention in your home!

This is an extract from Clare Haxby’s own description:

Chinatown is one of the most vibrant neighbourhoods to visit in the Little Red Dot, a riot of colour is everywhere, from the buildings to the cakes, trinkets and beautiful lanterns on sale in the shops and night markets.

The most prominent building in Chinatown is of course The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, a Buddhist temple and museum complex built in the Tang Dynasty architectural style, which houses a molar of Gautama Buddha. There is also an impressive giant prayer wheel at the roof terrace where you can send your wishes out into the universe.

Signed by the artist and printed on German Hahnemuhle 350 gsm Cotton Rag Etching paper.

The Clare Haxby Connection:

I met British artist Clare Haxby when she lived in Singapore. It was one of her “open house” days when she would open her art studio, which was located in a beautiful colonial Black & White house, to visitors. I felt an immediate connection with her art. I loved the way she portrays some of Singapore’s unique landmarks in vibrant colours. Her Buddha collection and the Botanical series equally spoke to me.

The generous use of bright colours make Clare Haxby’s paintings and fine art prints ideal objects to enhance the Feng Shui of your home when you hang them in the “right” place.

It gives me great pleasure to feature a small selection of Clare’s pieces of art in my website shop and I would like to explain how you can use them to enhance the auspicious energy in your home.

The Feng Shui Connection:

I first saw this painting on Clare’s social media and immediately loved it. I loved the vibrant shades of Red and all the bits and pieces characteristic of Singapore’s Chinatown, including the famous dragon dance, which Clare so skillfully blended together.

This print will certainly attract attention in your home, and it can be an extremely powerful Feng Shui tool. It exudes strong fire energy as the bright hues of red are the main colour. At the same time, there is precious yang energy thanks to the dancing Dragon.

In 2024, this is an ideal piece of art to hang in the CENTRE area of your home (but not in a bedroom), as fire energy is needed here to subdue the quarrelsome No 3 Star and help keep the peace at home.
