Lillian Too and her team delivered another interesting and very informative Feng Shui Extravaganza last weekend. I spent much of Friday, Saturday and Sunday in my office, watching the online presentations by Lillian Too, joined by her daughter Jennifer, her brother Phillip and her nephew Han Jin. These days, the others do most of the talking while Lillian has started to take a backseat, but I love seeing her, even if it is “only” on screen.
On Sunday, my office turned into a “women cave”, as my good friends Karina and Josephine joined me to watch some of the presentations. It brought back memories of the many live Extravaganzas we have attended together.
It is a lot of information to digest. Let me first of all give you a summary of the Feng Shui Extravaganza 2024:
The year 2024 is dominated by quarrelsome energy. There will be disagreements in personal relationships – from friends and family to work and business colleagues, as well as politically. It is also going to be a very competitive year. Keeping the harmony at home and at the work place will be vital this year.
We do not have a Lap Chun this year because Chinese New Year falls on 10 February, which is after February 4 (the start of the Chinese solar year). As a consequence, the year will be lacking in growth energy. You need to bring Spring into your home by adding plants or fresh flowers before 4 February 2024, to infuse your home with precious yang energy.
The Paht Chee chart is very unbalanced, as the water element is missing, and fire element is weak. In 2024, water represents wealth, while fire represents resources. In addition, there are no Yin elements at all in the chart, all elements are Yang, which adds to the imbalance.
But fret not, Lillian and her team have offered many tips on how to deal with these imbalances and with the help of your Feng Shui master you will be able to make the most of the year!
ENTERING PERIOD 9
On 4 February 2024 we are entering a new era, as the Feng Shui Period of 9 begins. This brings a huge energy shift. The current (ending) Period 8 was ruled by the earth element, which is known for its stability, whereas the new Period 9 is governed by the fire element, which is characterised by instability and unpredictability. That means, changes in fortune and circumstances can occur easily and unexpectedly. Period 9 is going to be a time of changes. Change will be the only constant.
With fire, there is always the danger that it can burn out of control.
So, while it is good to have fire elements in your home to welcome and activate the energies of the new period, you also need some water element for balance.
The No 9 becomes the luckiest number while No 8 loses energy.
Depending on when your house was built, you might like to consider renovating and updating it to Period 9, so you can continue to enjoy fresh and vibrant energy. This should be decided on an individual basis though as it also depends on your interior layout whether a period change will be beneficial or not.
PAHT CHEE CHART FOR THE YEAR 2024
These are the main indications for 2024:

The water element is missing in the chart. Since water represents wealth in 2024, there is a danger of cashflow problems and profits will be slow.

You can improve your money luck by installing water features in your home, but you need to be sure it is in the right place (please check with your Feng Shui consultant – what was good in Period 8 might not be good in Period 9).

There is too much earth element, which indicates a lot of competition, increased social problems, scandals and betrayals.

All pillars are Yang Pillars, which is another indicator of an aggressive and unbalanced year.

Zodiac animal clashes in the Earthly Branches also indicate increased fighting and competition.

The Hour Pillar is all metal, making children more stubborn. Parents need to be more patient.

Yang Fire weakens Yang Wood in the Month Pillar, adding more stress and worry for parents!

Yang Wood destroys Yang Earth in the Year Pillar, which indicates that the older generation will lose power and influence. New, younger leaders are likely to emerge.

Water appears as a hidden element; therefore, great caution is needed with speculative investments such as cryptocurrencies or stock market.
Fire element is not very strong in 2024, so you can wear red to bring balance. Blue is another auspicious colour to wear this year and ladies, get your pearls out! Pearls represent wealth coming from the ocean – a very powerful symbol in 2024.
SPECIAL STARS in 2024
We have the support of some special stars appearing in this year’s Paht Chee chart:

The Peach Blossom Star – brings marriage and romance luck, which can be good and bad because it also brings danger of infidelity and sex scandals. If you are in a relationship, you need to protect it. Use love and harmony symbols in your house and pay attention to your spouse. How about re-introducing date night?

The Scholastic Star – this is helpful for everyone, not just students. It indicates a need for learning new skills and anyone looking for new knowledge can achieve it once you activate this star. Scholastic honours will impress others and help to open new doors to success. With the changing energies in Period 9, continuous learning becomes more important too.

The Star of Money Bags – although there is no water in the Paht Chee Chart, the presence of the Star of Money Bags does bring money luck in 2024 but it must be activated. You can place wealth enhancers in the SW of your home (but not in a bedroom) to do so.

The Star of Popularity – indicates the importance of influence and popularity. Being popular and well-liked can be important for your success. If you are a person of influence, you need to be very careful though, avoid scandals, and choose your words wisely, because we also have the Squandering Star in the chart, which could lead to your downfall. Value your family, friends and supporters; don’t take people for granted and don’t squander your luck or your money.

The Star of Powerful Mentors – brings the luck of powerful and influential people coming into your life. It brings a nurturing energy that boosts support and wisdom. Networking efforts will be successful.

The Emperor Star – brings strong leaders and indicates that achievements – when gained – will be significant. The downside is that this star is brought by the Dog, who is the astrological enemy of the Dragon, which suggests problems in relationships and dangerous office politics.

The Travelling Horse Star – is good news for the travel industry, as it brings an increased desire to travel. It is advisable to wear protective amulets though to help ensure a smooth journey and prevent being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Plus a couple of stars that are not so positive:

The Star of 5 Ghosts – brings five types of bad luck, affecting your health, wealth and business. Your source of income may be affected, or you might experience betrayals from close friends.

The Reclusive Stubborn Star – makes you worry more (and often unnecessarily), feeling sad and upset, causing a build-up of anxiety which may lead to illness. People/animal signs with low life force and spirit essence are at increased risk.
THE FENG SHUI (FLYING STARS) CHART OF THE YEAR 2024:
As I mentioned earlier, the year 2024 is dominated by anger and hostility brought by the No 3 Conflict Star that flies into the CENTRE of the chart. This means, it will affect everybody in your household. In fact, it affects every building, no matter how big or small. Arguments and misunderstandings can pop up over the most trivial thing and blow out of all proportions. The No 3 Star is truly vicious and strikes without warning. You want to keep this area as quiet as possible to avoid aggravating it by accident. Placing cures and/or the right elements to safeguard the harmony in your home is very important.
NE-facing houses are very lucky, with the No 6 Heaven Star in their facing direction, the No 1 Victory & Future Prosperity Star in the EAST and the No 8 Wealth Star in the NORTH. The SW is also extremely auspicious, being the home of the new Wealth Star No 9, which benefits all matriarchs in 2024!
The No 4 Star brings love & romance vibes and also study luck to the NW. This makes it easier for single men to find a serious love partner and settle down this year. The No 4 Star also promotes networking and collaborations, which is a good thing, seeing that it directly benefits the patriarchs and leaders. But please do not over activate the No 4 Star, otherwise there is danger it might lead to infidelity! If you live in a NW-facing house and happen to have a water feature in front of your house it would be a good idea to switch it off this year.
The afflicted areas are the SE, SOUTH and WEST, where great care and strong remedies are recommended.

Remember to keep these areas quiet and do not carry out any renovations, drilling, knocking or digging here. Even loud music can be a disturbance to the energy (and particularly to the Tai Sui), so avoid having parties in these parts of your house.
People born in the Years of the Dragon, Sheep, Dog and Ox are advised to carry a Tai Sui amulet to appease the Tai Sui, because their location in the zodiac circle of animals is in a clashing position where they easily run the risk of offending the Tai Sui inadvertently.
