Chinese New Year in Asia is like Christmas in the Western world, and many people living in Asia follow some of the CNY rituals, no matter whether they are Chinese or not. Planning a short holiday and/or planning the best day to start work after the CNY period is part of that.
Chinese New Year is celebrated over a period of 15 days and most shops and businesses will be closed for at least part of that time. Since each single day has a different kind of energy, it is important to pick the right day to return to work or to re-open your business if you want to make sure you are starting the New Year on an auspicious note.
It is worth remembering your zodiac animal when deciding on the date to re-open your office or business. It is best to select the day that does not conflict with the owner and/or the key executives and managers. Conflict animals on the chosen date would do better to stay at home one more day. Be warned – if you do re-open your business on an unfavourable day, this can lead to problems and obstacles popping up throughout the year!
Of course, re-opening your business with a celebration increases the auspiciousness for the coming year.
Now if you haven’t already done so, it’s time to plan!
