Black Obsidian Wu Lou
The Wu Lou has long been used in Feng Shui as a cure against illness and is very popular in the form of a metal Wu Lou. In addition, this gourd shaped symbol has been regarded a symbol of longevity, good health and prosperity for many centuries.
Made of Black Obsidian stone, however, the Wu Lou will also protect against negative energy brought by poison arrows or inauspicious directions. Black Obsidian is a very powerful and protective stone and is believed to dissipate bad luck, repel negativity and absorb negative chi in your surroundings. It is therefore an excellent cure to place on your bedside table if you are sleeping in one of your unfavourable directions.
The Black Obsidian Wu Lou is also believed to help fight stress and depression and boost self-confidence – more reasons to keep it close on your bedside table or desk.
Please note that the colour intensity and exact size of the Black Obsidian Wu Lou may vary as each piece is unique.

Emerald Hill Shophouses
It was probably at my very first visit to Clare Haxby’s studio when I fell in love with this “Emerald Hill Shophouses” print and I am delighted to introduce this print to you now on my website, as the Singapore shophouses continue to be ever so popular.
The Peranakan Shophouses of Emerald Hill are one of Singapore's best addresses. Formerly Plantation land, it was wealthy Chinese Peranakan Spice Merchants or Straits Chinese who inhabited these ornate buildings just off Orchard Road. The decorative style was also known as Chinese Baroque.

Peranakans & Peonies at the Joo Chiat Shophouse
I wanted to feature some artwork that is suitable for the “Health” sector of your home, and this enchanting “Peranakans & Peonies at the Joo Chiat Shophouse” by Clare Haxby is one of them. It is one of Clare’s latest creations in her series of Singapore Landmarks.
The painting features the Peranakan ladies in their beautiful embroidered clothes in front of a row of “Joo Chiat” district painted shophouses so typical of Singapore’s heritage. On the border of the painting is a decorative and striking Peranakan tile design.
