In May, the Illness Star flies into the CENTRE area and joins the Quarrelsome No 3 Star. This can lead to illness, accidents and setbacks. Furthermore, the clashing elements of the two stars can cause pressure on couples and close relationships. Business people may find it a challenging month.
Other danger sectors are the NE, NORTH and NW, with the No 5 Misfortune Star flying into the NE, the No 7 Burglary & Loss Star into the NORTH and the Quarrelsome No 3 Star into the NW. Keep the lights dim in these areas and avoid spending time there.
Luck shines in the SE, SOUTH and SW, where the No 1 Victory Star improves the luck of the SE considerably. Homes facing SOUTH are particularly lucky this May, thanks to the No 6 Heaven Star and being flanked by the auspicious SE and SW sectors. The SW is home of two (!) wealth stars, making it one of the best areas this month.
The Flying Stars chart below shows nine fields, each containing two numbers. The big number on the left of each field represents the annual star (red = afflictive, black = auspicious) and the smaller number on the right represents the current monthly star. These smaller numbers change every month and therefore create new energy patterns in your home and office.
To apply these monthly stars successfully, you need to map out the compass sectors in your home or office. If you are not yet familiar with the compass orientations of your home, I recommend you take two compass readings as follows:

one compass reading from your main door, looking out, and

another reading from the center of your living room, looking towards your balcony or picture window.
These two readings should enable you to determine the compass directions and locations of your home, so you can ascertain which stars fly into which area.
Please take particular note of the location of your main entrance door and your master bedroom, as the stars in those sectors will affect you the most. For those of you who work from home, the location of your home office/work station at home is obviously also important.
SOUTHEAST (2/1)
The No 1 Victory Star greatly improves the luck of the SE this month, bringing good fortune to career minded people who are working hard to climb the career ladder or boost their business success. Activating the No 1 Star will boost your energy levels, giving you a competitive advantage and boosting your success potential.

WEST (5/4)
The WEST enjoys better luck this month thanks to the No 4 Love & Romance Star.

Here, we need to be more careful again as the No 5 Misfortune Star makes an appearance in the NE. This brings danger of misfortune in many ways, including illness and money loss, particularly to male members of the family.

Those with main door or bedroom in the NE should take extra precautions and carry a White Umbrella Goddess Pagoda Amulet this month and place an Abundance Wu Lou on their bedside table. This includes people born in the Years of the Ox or Tiger.
Avoid risky investments and keep an eye on your spending, as the No 5 Star can also bring financial losses. Carry a Padlock of Wealth Amulet or keep this near you on your work desk to help protect your wealth.
NORTH (8/7)
Energies of betrayal, financial loss and violence enter the NORTH.
To protect your home and your family, place the Door Guardians with Ksitigarbha Staff Plaque and the Magic Macaw here. Keep this area quiet and avoid noisy activities, including loud music or TVs.
People staying in the NORTH of the house and those born in the Year of the Rat should lie low this month and carry an Elephant & Rhino with Ksitigarbha Staff Amulet for protection. Be careful who you trust.

Tempers are rising and conflict energy is high in the NW due to the Quarrelsome No 3 Star, causing trouble in relationships at home and at work. This particularly affects the patriarchs and people in leading positions, as well as those who spend a lot of time in the NW.
You need to subdue the angry chi with the 3 Harmony Animals or a pair of Peace Apples. Adding red accessories in your NW will also be helpful. If this is your living room, add red cushions to your sofa. In a NW dining room, you can use red table decorations. Be creative!
