We are nearing the end of January in rapid steps, and the next super busy travel period is coming up – Chinese New Year. This is the biggest holiday of the year in Asia and is celebrated over 15 days.
This year, Chinese New Year falls on 29 January 2025 and large numbers of people will be travelling to spend the festive days of Chinese New Year with their families or take the opportunity to enjoy a short holiday.
So I thought I’d share the good travel dates for the CNY period with you, just in case!
To get home in time for the celebrations, the best travel dates are as follows:
Date | Conflict Animal (ie NOT a good day for this zodiac animal) |
Friday, 17th January 2025 | Dragon |
Saturday, 18th January 2025 | Snake |
Monday, 20th January 2025 | Sheep |
Tuesday, 21st January 2025 | Monkey |
Wednesday, 22nd January 2025 | Rooster |
Wednesday, 29th January 2025 (CNY) | Dragon |
During the 15 days of the Chinese New Year Period, the following are the most auspicious travel dates:
Date | Conflict Animal | |
Wednesday, 29th January 2025 | 1st Day of CNY | Dragon |
Thursday, 30th January 2025 | 2nd Day of CNY | Snake |
Friday, 31st January 2025 | 3rd Day of CNY | Horse |
Saturday, 1st February 2025 | 4th Day of CNY | Sheep |
Sunday, 2nd February 2025 | 5th Day of CNY | Monkey |
Monday, 3rd February 2025 | 6th Day of CNY | Rooster |
Tuesday, 4th February 2025 | 7th Day of CNY | Dog |
Tuesday, 11th February 2025 | 14th Day of CNY | Snake |
Wednesday, 12th February 2025 | 15th Day of CNY | Horse |
However, travelling on February 6, 7, 8 and 9 should be avoided, as these are BAD days to travel during the 15 day CNY period, and so is the 13 February, immediately after the festive CNY time.
If you cannot avoid travelling on one of the less auspicious days, I would highly recommend you carry a protective amulet with you, e.g. the 4 Weapon Protection Amulet. In addition, the conflict animals mentioned in the tables would also benefit from carrying a protective amulet during their journey.
Wishing you safe travels!
