January is the first month of the new calendar year and it looks very promising, thanks to the No 6 Heaven Star in the CENTRE! It gets even better, as the No 6 Star combines with the annual No 4 Star to form the powerful “Sum of Ten”. This is fabulous news for everybody because it means we all have strong completion luck and heavenly support. So let’s get to work on these New Year’s resolutions, because we will have help from the universe!
The other auspicious areas are the SOUTH, EAST and WEST, with the No 1 Victory Star bringing even more luck to the SOUTH, the No 4 Relationship Star improving the luck of the EAST, and the No 8 Wealth Star flying into the WEST. Homes that are on an EAST-WEST axis will therefore benefit the most this January, especially with regard to making money and friends.
Afflictions loom in the SE, SW, NW and NORTH sectors, with the No 5 Misfortune Star in the SE and the No 7 Burglary & Loss Star in the NW; the latter being a great danger for the patriarch. The SW is under the quarrelsome influence of the No 3 Star, while the NORTH has magnified illness energy. Remedies are needed here, especially if your bedroom or main entrance door are located in these areas.
The Flying Stars chart below shows nine fields, each containing two numbers. The big number on the left of each field represents the annual star (red = afflictive, black = auspicious) and the smaller number on the right represents the current monthly star. These smaller numbers change every month and therefore create new energy patterns in your home and office.
To apply these monthly stars successfully, you need to map out the compass sectors in your home or office. If you are not yet familiar with the compass orientations of your home, I recommend you take two compass readings as follows:

one compass reading from your main door, looking out, and
-
another reading from the center of your living room, looking towards your balcony or picture window.
These two readings should enable you to determine the compass directions and locations of your home, so you can ascertain which stars fly into which area.
Please take particular note of the location of your main entrance door and your master bedroom, as the stars in those sectors will affect you the most. For those of you who work from home, the location of your home office/work station at home is obviously also important.
SOUTHEAST (3/5)
The No 5 Misfortune Star hits the SE, causing major afflictions. These can manifest in the form of illness, accidents or injuries, or even money problems. It is best to keep the SE quiet this month. Avoid spending time here and do not undertake any renovations in the SE.
Subdue the misfortune chi by placing a White Umbrella Goddess Pagoda here. If your main entrance or bedroom is located in the SE, then it is also recommended to carry a White Umbrella Goddess Amulet this month.
Protect your health by displaying a Pair of Cranes with Peaches & Bamboo or an Abundance Wu Lou here.

SOUTH (8/1)
The SOUTH is one of the luckiest sectors this month thanks to the No 1 Victory Star. This brings fabulous luck for your career or business ventures. New and exciting opportunities might present themselves and it will be easier to overcome obstacles while pursuing your goals.
Enhance the auspicious energies in the SOUTH by displaying the Rooster with Dragon Tortoise or a Period 9 Wind Horse here. This will also help you beat any competition you might be facing this month.

Those people mentioned above ought to carry a Padlock of Harmony to protect their good relationships.
Married couples with bedroom in the SW should display a Double Happiness Vase with Lillies or a pair of Bejewelled Mandarin Ducks on their bedside table to keep their loving bond strong and to protect against infidelity.
EAST (2/4)
Life becomes easier for people living in EAST-facing houses or bedrooms, as the monthly No 4 Star enhances relationships, study luck and creativity. Students will find it easier to study and those looking for more success in their career will find it easier to come up with new ideas. Networking efforts will bear fruit.

People staying in the WEST or in WEST-facing houses and those born in the Year of the Rooster will benefit from carrying a Water Wave Amulet with Pearl to harness the wealth-bringing energies of the No 8 Star.

NORTHEAST (7/9)
The energies are mixed in the NE. The monthly No 9 Star promises fame and new opportunities, but it also strengthens the annual No 7 Star, increasing the danger of burglary, betrayal or being cheated. To tap into the auspicious energies of the No 9 Star, you must first ensure you are well protected against the negative energy of the No 7 Star, especially if your home is facing NE.
