You could say that the Year of the Dragon ends with a bang, seeing that the Flying Stars double up in January! That means the lucky sectors become even luckier, while the unlucky sectors become more dangerous.
One of the trouble spots is the double No 3 in the CENTRE, strongly increasing conflict and aggravation. We all have to remember to stay calm and install strong cures.
More bad luck is lurking in the SE, SOUTH and WEST, with double illness, burglary & loss and misfortune energies. Be prepared!
The NE-NORTH-NW however is a very lucky axis, and you want to spend more time here. The EAST and SW are also extremely auspicious and are excellent sectors for business luck this month. Don’t miss the opportunity to activate these luck-bringing areas.
The Flying Stars chart below shows nine fields, each containing two numbers. The big number on the left of each field represents the annual star (red = afflictive, black = auspicious) and the smaller number on the right represents the current monthly star. These smaller numbers change every month and therefore create new energy patterns in your home and office.
To apply these monthly stars successfully, you need to map out the compass sectors in your home or office. If you are not yet familiar with the compass orientations of your home, I recommend you take two compass readings as follows:

one compass reading from your main door, looking out, and
-
another reading from the center of your living room, looking towards your balcony or picture window.
These two readings should enable you to determine the compass directions and locations of your home, so you can ascertain which stars fly into which area.
Please take particular note of the location of your main entrance door and your master bedroom, as the stars in those sectors will affect you the most. For those of you who work from home, the location of your home office/work station at home is obviously also important.
SOUTHEAST (2/2)
Illness chi is extremely strong in the SE, increasing the risk of lethargy and sickness befalling you. However, now that we are in Period 9, the No 2 Star also brings wealth luck, so this is increased too!
To make the best of the energies here, you can display a pair of 5 Blessings Wu Lou in your SE. Those of you who have bedrooms or main doors in the SE must particularly look out for their health and wear a Healing Snake Mantra Ring or carry a 5 Blessings Wu Lou Amulet for protection.
Elderly people or pregnant ladies should avoid sleeping in a SE bedroom this month.
SOUTH (7/7)
The SOUTH is another dangerous sector, as the double No 7 Stars bring violence, cheating and loss. Postpone any renovation plans, knocking or digging in the SOUTH. Make sure you take adequate precautions if your bedroom or main door is located here.
Protect your home from thieves and people with bad intentions by placing the Magic Peacock Plaque in your SOUTH. In addition, those of you who live in SOUTH-facing houses or have their bedroom in the SOUTH should also carry a protective amulet when they are out and about (e.g. going to work or school). The Peacock Feather Amulet, 4 Weapon Protection Amulet or the Magic Peacock Card are all suitable.
Protect your wealth with a Wealth Abacus placed in your SOUTH.
SOUTHWEST (9/9)
Two No 9 Stars of Current Prosperity make the SW a fabulous sector to harness success, recognition, wealth and happiness energies. This is a place where you should spend more time this month!
If you wish to boost your career, you can display the Number 9 Wealth Vault in your SW (but not in a bedroom).
To boost profits in business, you can display the Sky Porcupine in the SW of your office instead.
For a general boost of your good luck, you can also use the “Winning Streak” Sure Win Coins or the Double 9 Plaque.
Matriarchs and those of you born in the Years of the Sheep or Monkey will also highly benefit from carrying a “Power of 9” Windfall Amulet this month. The same applies if you live in a SW-facing house or your bedroom is in the SW.
EAST (1/1)
The EAST enjoys the fabulous good luck of two No 1 Victory Stars, which will boost influence and success potential. Chances are high that you will gain recognition, and support will easily be available when you need it. Those of you who find themselves in a competitive situation will have an advantage too.

As mentioned earlier, conflict energy is high this month, as the Quarrelsome No 3 Star doubles in the CENTRE area, affecting everyone. Misunderstandings can easily blow out of proportion and risks of lawsuits are extremely high. Even if you are usually a calm person you can be affected! Don’t let these troublesome energies make you lose your temper!
Decorate your CENTRE area with red accessories, e.g. red wall art or red cushion covers, to subdue the No 3 Star. In addition, it would be good to carry a Harmony Apple Amulet with Ladybug & Dragonfly.
WEST (5/5)
Two No 5 Misfortune Stars meet in the WEST, making this another extremely dangerous place with high risks of misfortune, illness and loss. Those staying here will likely face major obstacles this month.
You can keep these negative energies under control by placing a White Umbrella Goddess Pagoda here. In addition, you can place the Treasure Chest with Double Dragon to protect your wealth.
People born in the Year of the Rooster ought to carry a 5 Element Pagoda Amulet to help keep them safe.
However, there is also strong completion luck, as the two stars form the lucky Sum-of-Ten combination. This can be enhanced with the Teapot with Completion Horse or by carrying a Sum-of-Ten Amulet.
NORTHEAST (6/6)
There is fabulous windfall luck in the NE and wonderful heaven luck, offering divine assistance and mentor and benefactor luck for anyone in need of a helping hand. Obstacles will magically disappear, which then improves your chances of achieving good results.
You can activate this heavenly chi by placing the 5 Element Lucky Dice or Pu Hsien Pusa sitting on a white Elephant in your NE.
If your bedroom or main door is located in the NE, or you are born in the Years of the Ox or Tiger, carry a Heaven Seal Amulet or a Nobleman Gui Ren Talisman Amulet.
NORTH (8/8)
Strong wealth luck is present in the NORTH thanks to the two No 8 Prosperity Stars here. Activate this space by spending more time here!
If you wish to accumulate new assets with growth potential or improve your income, you can place the Peach Tree with Magic Monkey or Choy San Yeh, the God of Wealth, in your NORTH (but not in a bedroom).

January will be a fruitful time for those of you staying in the NW, as you gain more clarity, and creativity gets a big boost. You will have fabulous new ideas, and it will be easy for you to forge new collaborations.
To activate these excellent energies, you can display the Monkey God on Dragon in your NW (but not in a bedroom).
