We are already moving into the second month of the Year of the Dragon! Tensions will ease as the No 4 Star flies into the CENTRE and improves relationships. It also brings new ideas, creativity and inspiration.
The CENTRE, NORTH, SOUTH, WEST and SW enjoy the positive stars and are worth activating. The matriarchs enjoy the good fortune of the “Sum of Ten” while the patriarchs unfortunately have to put up with the No 5 Misfortune Star.
The SE is the worst afflicted sector, with the argumentative No 3 Star pairing up with the annual Illness Star. Please also take care in the EAST and NE, homes of the monthly Illness Star and the Burglary & Loss Star respectively.
The Flying Stars chart below shows nine fields, each containing two numbers. The big number on the left of each field represents the annual star (red = afflictive, black = auspicious) and the smaller number on the right represents the current monthly star. These smaller numbers change every month and therefore create new energy patterns in your home and office.
To apply these monthly stars successfully, you need to map out the compass sectors in your home or office. If you are not yet familiar with the compass orientations of your home, I recommend you take two compass readings as follows:
- one compass reading from your main door, looking out, and
- another reading from the center of your living room, looking towards your balcony or picture window.
These two readings should enable you to determine the compass directions and locations of your home, so you can ascertain which stars fly into which area.
Please take particular note of the location of your main entrance door and your master bedroom, as the stars in those sectors will affect you the most. For those of you who work from home, the location of your home office/work station at home is obviously also important.
SOUTHEAST (2/3)
The monthly No 3 Star brings quarrelsome energy to the SE, which particularly affects those born in the Year of the Dragon and Snake and people who spend a lot of time in the SE.
Couples with bedroom in the SE need to be more patient with each other. If you find your spouse more argumentative than usual, remember that it’s just the Feng Shui! You can strengthen your loving bond with the Marriage Comb or a Padlock of Love.
Keeping this area as quiet as possible and not spending much time there also helps to reduce the potential for conflicts.
Hanging a picture of a Happy Laughing Buddha or displaying the 3 Harmony Animals will help to keep the peace in your home.
SOUTH (7/8)
The SOUTH enjoys wealth and financial growth thanks to the No 8 Star this month, which can be activated for money, income and windfall luck. The energies are particularly helpful for those of you who are in business or active in the stock market, as well as those living in SOUTH-facing homes or with bedrooms in the SOUTH.
Enhance the wealth luck with the Water Wave with Purple Pearl or a Young Green Dragon displayed in the SOUTH (but not in a bedroom). You can also carry a Water Wave with Pearl amulet or place a green Bucket of Gold & Good Fortune with 3-Legged Toad on your desk.
Those of you who are in business can display the Cash Flow Camel in Royal Blue instead to activate for improved profits.
SOUTHWEST (9/1)
This is one of the most auspicious sectors this month, which is fabulous news for the matriarchs and businesswomen, as well as people born in the Years of the Sheep or Monkey. If you are keen to climb the career ladder or grow your business, spend more time in your SW! The monthly No 1 Victory Star brings winning energies that help you make the right decisions. Combined with the annual No 9 Star it forms the powerful “Sum of Ten”, bringing completion luck, helping you to complete your projects with good results.
You can activate this fabulous luck with a Prosperity Flag with Dragon placed in your SW.
To boost success in business, you can place a Dragon Tortoise in the SW of your office.
People with main doors or bedrooms in the SW as well as matriarchs and Sheep and Monkeys will benefit from carrying a Period 9 Wind Horse amulet to help boost their success.
EAST (1/2)
Although the EAST enjoys the annual No 1 Victory Star, the monthly No 2 Illness Star brings illness and danger of injuries. People staying in EAST-facing homes or EAST bedrooms might find their energy levels dropping significantly. The same applies to the oldest son and those born in the Year of the Rabbit. You could also become more vulnerable to spiritual disturbances and manipulation by others.

NORTHEAST (6/7)
There is burglary, betrayal and loss energy in the NE this month due to the No 7 Star flying in. Do not let your guard down! There is an increased danger of break-ins, theft and getting cheated. There may also be an increasing number of deceitful people causing trouble at work and danger of infidelity for married couples.
Placing the Elephant & Rhino with Ksitigarbha Staff in your NE will help preserve everything you have. In addition, carry the Padlock of Wealth amulet and an Elephant & Rhino with Ksitigarbha Staff amulet when you are out and about for protection.
If you are married, place the Double Happiness Vase with Lilies or a Bejewelled pair of Mandarin Ducks in the SW of your bedroom to protect from outside temptations.
NORTH (8/9)
The NORTH is another extremely auspicious sector this month thanks to the No 9 Star flying in and bringing fame, new opportunities and great wealth luck. It is a combination of the “old” and “new” wealth stars, offering fantastic wealth and windfall luck. Spend more time in your NORTH this month to soak up the fabulous energy!
Harness the good chi here with a Bucket of Gold & Good Fortune or a Great Increasing Wealth Bowl. If your main entrance is located in the NORTH, display the Lucky 9 here and carry a “Winning Cards” Windfall amulet.
However, now that we are in Period 9, the No 8 Star also has the tendency to bring illness. Please be aware and place a Pair of Cranes with Bamboo and Peaches or an Abundance Wu Lou in your NORTH to protect your health and carry an Abundance Wu Lou amulet. Especially this month when the No 9 Star magnifies the chi in the NORTH.
NORTHWEST (4/5)
Unfortunately, the No 5 Misfortune Star affects the NW this month and is therefore a danger to the patriarch of your family, people in leadership positions and those born in the Years of the Dog or Boar. The No 5 Star increases the risk of misfortune befalling you, accidents, injuries, or money loss. If you live in a NW-facing house or sleep in a NW bedroom, you are equally in danger.
For protection, place a White Umbrella Goddess Pagoda in your NW and those people mentioned above ought to carry the amulet version to make sure the Misfortune Star does not reach you. Caution is advised when it comes to important decisions. It is not a good time to start anything new or make changes.
