The No 5 Misfortune Star flies into the CENTRE this month, causing problems and disharmony. The energy in the SOUTH is volatile too, as the monthly No 9 Star is auspicious, but it also amplifies the annual No 5 Misfortune Star. It is best to keep this sector quiet this month.
Luck shines in the NORTH, SW, SE and EAST, where we see four Ho Tu combinations this month, plus the powerful “Sum of Ten” in the WEST, helping with completion luck. The NORTH is particularly lucky with the 6/1 combination, making it a perfect time to activate for career and promotion luck.
The Flying Stars chart below shows nine fields, each containing two numbers. The big number on the left of each field represents the annual star (red = afflictive, black = auspicious) and the smaller number on the right represents the current monthly star. These smaller numbers change every month and therefore create new energy patterns in your home and office.
To apply these monthly stars successfully, you need to map out the compass sectors in your home or office. If you are not yet familiar with the compass orientations of your home, I recommend you take two compass readings as follows:
• one compass reading from your main door, looking out, and
• another reading from the center of your living room, looking towards your balcony or picture window.
These two readings should enable you to determine the compass directions and locations of your home, so you can ascertain which stars fly into which area.
Please take particular note of the location of your main entrance door and your master bedroom, as the stars in those sectors will affect you the most. For those of you who work from home, the location of your home office/work station at home is obviously also important.
SOUTHEAST (9/4)
The SE is one of the luckiest sectors this month, where study and academic luck is strong. Ideas will come easily and those who stay focused will see great results. It is a very auspicious sector for students to study this month. Those working in creative fields should harness these energies too.
To make the most of this lucky time, students can place a Saraswati Mini Plaque on their study desk to support their top performance.
Those looking for love and romance can display the Peach Bossom Peony Love Box in the SE of their home or bedroom and carry a Double Happiness Love Talisman. This will also be useful to strengthen existing relationships.
The 9/4 combination of stars forms the Ho Tu combination that brings business success. This can be very helpful for entrepreneurs big and small and particularly useful if you are planning an expansion.

SOUTH (5/9)
The monthly No 9 Star improves the energy in the SOUTH and brings money-making opportunities. This is great news for SOUTH-facing homes and those with main doors in the SOUTH.
To harness the luck of the No 9 Star this month, you can display a 9-Rod Abacus in this sector (but not in a bedroom) and carry a 9-Rod Abacus Amulet or a No 9 Twirling Wealth Amulet.
But be careful not to over-activate this area, as this might aggravate the annual Misfortune Star and you don’t want that! Avoid loud noise, bright lights, and excessive activity here.
SOUTHWEST (7/2)
This month, we see the Illness Star in the SW, which particularly affects the matriarch. Do take health matters seriously! If you spend a lot of time in the SW or have your bedroom there, please pay attention to your body and don’t ignore the signs it sends you.
Place a metal Wu Lou or a Long Life Vase with Ling Zhi in your SW to subdue the No 2 Illness Star.
But there is hidden wealth luck in the SW too thanks to the 2/7 Wealth Ho To combination, which can be activated with a Ho Tu Enhancing Mirror. However, don’t forget the annual No 7 Star and the loss energy it brings, meaning that although you have good chances to make money, the money can easily disappear again. Protect your money with a Wealth Lock Coin, so you can enjoy the benefits of the Ho Tu gains.
EAST (8/3)
The Quarrelsome No 3 Star causes problems and unnecessary stress in the EAST this month. It is best to keep this area as quiet as possible.
To prevent arguments from escalating, you can place Ksiddigarbha’s Fireball & Staff here or display a Peace Hanging with Red Tassel. Be particularly mindful if your bedroom is in the EAST, as it is very easy to overreact under the influence of the No 3 Star.
Luckily, we also see a Ho Tu combination here, as the 3/8 stars form the Ho Tu that enhances leadership potential, increasing your chances to step up and into positions of greater authority and responsibility. This can be activated with a Ho Tu Enhancing Mirror or a Chi Lin.
Don’t forget that you can also boost the annual No 8 Wealth Star with a Wealth Abacus (but not in your bedroom).
CENTRE (1/6)
As mentioned earlier, the No 5 Misfortune Star flies into the CENTRE and therefore affects everyone. This can bring financial loss, obstacles, and even health issues, so everybody needs to be extra careful!
For protection, you can place a Heart Sutra Pagoda or a 5 Element Pagoda in your CENTRE. It would also be good to carry a Heart Sutra Pagoda Talisman. Those of you who are elderly or currently suffering from health issues should also carry a Triple Blessings Wu Lou Amulet, as the No 5 Star could make things worse.
WEST (3/7)
The monthly No 7 Star brings danger of financial loss and accidents.
If your main entrance is in the WEST or you spend a lot of time in the WEST you ought to be particularly careful and carry an Active Rhino & Elephant Amulet for protection – especially if you tend to stay out late! You also want to place the Active Rhino & Elephant pair in the WEST sector of your home.
Having said that, the stars here also form the powerful “Sum of Ten”, helping you finish what you start successfully. To help you harness this auspicious energy, you can display the Perfect 10 Completion Horse in your WEST and carry a Perfect 10 Amulet.
With the remedies in place, the WEST can bring you good luck this month!
NORTHEAST (4/8)
The NE is another lucky sector this month with the monthly No 8 Wealth Star bringing valuable wealth energy. However, in Period 9, the No 8 is a weak star and therefore needs strong activation if you would like to see results. Keep this area active, spend more time here and make some noise. If the No 8 Star is left to stagnate, it can lead to loss of energy and drive and manifest health issues.
So, activate the No 8 Star! This year’s powerful activators are a Water Dragon Faucet, a 3-Legged Toad with Giant Pearl, or a Lap Chun Wealth Tree. Keeping this area bright and full of activity will help you get the money flowing. NORTH (6/1)
If you have been working towards a promotion, this is the time to go for it! The 6/1 stars in the NORTH are very powerful and promise strong career and victory luck, as well as financial opportunities.
