Louise Hill describes her Pink Peony as follows:
Featuring the iconic national flower of China, a vintage wedding tea flask with the double happiness wording and whimsical elements of nature. “Pink Peony” reflects more feminine hues with a nod to the heritage shophouse, synonymous with Singapore and many parts of Asia. The delicate vintage kite floating up towards the top of the shophouse and the embroidered butterflies dancing across the canvas all add to the playfulness of the design. I’m enjoying exploring my new home in Singapore and discovering its hidden treasures and heritage.

The Louise Hill Connection:
I have been seeing Louise Hill’s artwork on social media and subsequently met her a few times at various fairs and art events. Louise’s artwork is very detailed, bringing together lots of Asian scenes, symbols and images.
I love the feminine energy of this print and the gentle colouring and I am delighted to be able to feature the “Pink Peony” in my collection of “Feng Shui Art”, alongside some of Louise’s other pieces. They make gorgeous Asian accents for your home and I see Feng Shui symbolism in many of Louise’s creations.
The Feng Shui Connection:
The Peony flower is one of the best Feng Shui symbols to enhance love and romance. It is one of the most sensual flowers with a delicious scent and is often considered a metaphor for female beauty. The blossoming peonies also signify growth and encourage positive feelings.
Hanging this gorgeous print in the SW of your living room can help bring eligible suitors for those who are still single. For married couples, the pink peony can be used to help nourish their long lasting love and also promote fertility.
The addition of two pretty little birds is another beautiful symbol for relationship luck.
Love luck is further enhanced by the butterflies, which are another well known Feng Shui symbol to enhance love and romance. Butterflies are a classic Feng Shui symbol to generally improve your life as they are believed to bring good luck, love, joy and happiness, as well as creativity. They will bring positive changes to any area of your home that needs transformation. Their particular affinity to love and romance stems most likely from the fact that falling in love is such a transformative feeling; it makes you feel like flying!
All the symbols in this print blend together beautifully, evoking a feeling of beauty, grace and sensuality, while the floral patterns and heritage shophouse in the background add a sense of romance and nostalgia.
Best Feng Shui Placement:
- In the SW of your living room or dining room to attract love or strengthen your loving relationship. Avoid hanging peonies in the bedroom of a couple as some Feng Shui masters believe that it may lead to the husband having an affair with a younger woman.
- SINGLE persons can hang this print in their bedroom if they wish to attract a new love into their life. Once they have found that special person it would be best to remove the picture though and hang it in the living room instead.
