There are many traditions and rituals associated with Chinese New Year. One of them is to look at the auspicious door directions on the Day of Chinese New Year.
Feng Shui Masters recommend to only open those doors that are facing a good direction! All doors that are facing a bad direction should remain closed on the first day of Chinese New Year, even if that means you have to stay indoors all day or, as my master Lillian Too did a few years ago, take your family away on a holiday over the Chinese New Year period. “Staycation” is the key word for those of you who are in Singapore!
This year, Chinese New Year falls on Tuesday, 1st February 2022 and the auspicious door directions are as follows:
|God of Wealth:||SOUTHEAST|
|God of Mentors:||SOUTHWEST|
So, if your main door (or even a secondary door) faces SE, then it will be most auspicious for you to invite the God of Wealth into your home on the first day of Chinese New Year, coming from the SE direction.
The inauspicious door directions are as follows:
Remember NOT to open these doors during the 2nd half of the day.
